The Holistic Concept

Healthy animals and high-quality organic meats are what consumers and customers expect of organic poultry and of us as producers. In order to achieve this, we pursue a “holistic concept” as a matter of principle. This means that free-range turkeys, at all stages of the production process, from egg to packaged grocery, are subjected to stringent quality controls. Maintaining the equilibrium between man, animals and the environment is central to this process.

Top-quality meat and healthy animals can only be realized when the feed is impeccable. Therefore, quality assurance begins in the field. Organic farming on GMO- and chemical-free fields protects the soil and drinking water as well as biodiversity while producing safe organic feeds for our animals. The vast majority of our feed stems from a mill for organic feed in which our company shares ownership. The feeds meet the animals’ nutritional needs during each growth stage. Unadulterated quality can be guaranteed since feed is delivered in our own silo tractor-trailers by our own logistics team.

Aside from the feed, animal welfare is another hallmark of quality. The beaks of the chicks are not cropped and natural social interaction is not restricted. Historic breeds or so- called genetic old-timers which are robust and slow to mature as well as large pens and yards are also critical to maintaining the special quality of our meat. 
The next step in the holistic concept is low-stress slaughtering using traditional methods. To maintain low stress levels, transportation distance is kept to a minimum and the slaughtering process primarily involves manual work. Cutting the meat is also primarily done manually, which assures consistent in-depth quality control for each and every animal.
The packaged products are forwarded quickly and directly to our distribution partners and customers.
